What guests say about the food

Lumineer Adventure Tours’ BBQ gets the warmest words. A guest in April 2026 counted “2 sausages and a bit of chicken each to start, bread roll and 6 salad dishes to choose from”, with a chance to go back for more. Others mention steak, vegan sausages, and a vegetarian patty wrapped in its own paper so it never touched the meat grill (December 2025). The one complaint about quantity in its latest 350 reviews came from a large group in April 2026, when “some of the items ran out before everyone got through the line”.

Autopia Tours' picnic divides opinion. A guest in August 2026 listed “rolls, cold meats, falafel, salads, cheese and crackers” and called it great; vegan guests in May 2026 were surprised at the care taken over theirs. Others found it thin: one in April 2026 called it “a picnic lunch with sandwiches” rather than a dinner, another that month found too little room at the table, and one in March 2026 noted that the drinks were “sparkling wine or orange juice”.

Australian Pinnacle Tours' tavern dinner is a sit-down meal at a pub in Cervantes. Guests over the years have found it good, plain or overpriced for drinks; several mention paying extra to upgrade to rock lobster, with mixed results.

Lunch is on you

Every one of these tours leaves Perth around midday or in the early afternoon, and none includes lunch. Lunch is excluded on Lumineer Adventure Tours’ day, and its first stop pauses for refreshments, where a guest in August 2026 found food to buy; on Tour2Holiday's day you have lunch before you leave and bring snacks. Eat before pickup.

Which dinner to book

For a cooked meal with plenty of it, Lumineer Adventure Tours’ BBQ. For a lighter picnic before the telescope, Autopia Tours' evening. For a meal at a table and koalas on the way, Australian Pinnacle Tours, on the days it runs.
